Net10 Phone Faulted, Phone replaced but with a New Number!

My Net10 Phone handset faulted couple of weeks back. My Net10 "Phone number" was active with valid minutes and Expiry date of 3 months from now.

I got the new Phone hand set as a replacement along with a SIM card (I cannot use old SIM card with new hand set!)and has been allocated a new number with minutes transferred!!

Why at first place I was a given a new number when my old number was active. Why it could not be transferred to new SIM?? It was only the Hand set that was faulted and not the Number!

Can I get back my old number again!! :roll:
