Wait Time For SIM Card

Wait Time For SIM Card

Postby kbm69 » Wed Jun 08, 2011 1:03 am

I am interested in transferring my AT&T land line number to my NET10 phone. I have started the online process but stopped at a point where I was told that I would have to be sent a SIM card. I wanted to get a few details before continuing. This may be a dumb question, but is the time required to complete the change the amount of time it takes AT&T to release the number plus the shipping time to get the card? And is there a charge for the card and shipping? Finally, is there a way to expedite shipping if needed?

My concern is not having access to my phone for a week or longer.

Hi. My name is NET10 Marianne and I will be addressing your question. Please note when porting a landline number, it could take up to 30 days. If there’s a need to send you a replacement simcard, it is for free and it’s covered within the 30 day period of waiting for the number to be transferred. The 7-10 business day process is only applicable for porting a cellular number. If your NET10 phone is already active, once we initiated the port process, at anytime the phone will be deactivated. Thanks.

Thank you for the response. For clarification regarding the potential 30 days period, are you saying that I could lose access to both the land line and my current NET10 phone simultaneously for that length of time?

Hi kbm69. My name is NET10 Stephanie and I will be addressing your question. The landline will sop working once the number has been released so they will not be deactivated simultaneously. I believe this answers your question. It’s been a pleasure helping you. Have a good day.
