porting

Postby Hogryder » Wed May 11, 2011 5:22 pm

I have an LG800G phone that was sent to me by my brother who lives in another zip code. I have trying to port my Verizon # to this phone but have been told that it is not compatible with this area. This is a GSM phone and AT&T has excellent service in this area. Can someone please explain why this cannot be done when I am going to be using this phone in the same area as my current cell service? Or at least can I get a local area code to go with this phone? Please help, I have been in an endless circle trying to get a logical explanation.

Hi Hogryder. My name is NET10 Stephanie. Sorry that you’re having a problem. I’m going to try to help you now. May I please have the zip code so that I can check if we support GSM service in that area? Thanks.

Hi Hogryder. The reason why we cannot process the port is because this phone does not have service in the zip code. Only CDMA phones or phones without sim cards are supported by NET10 in this area. Thanks.

This phone came from zip 76825. Can I at least activate it here in zip 57702 with a new phone # with a local area code? (Area code 605)

Hi Hogryder. Sorry but we do not provide service for GSM phones in the zip code 57702 so we cannot activate the phone with a new number. The system will not let us continue with the activation due to service availability. Thanks.
