Issues with the porting process

Issues with the porting process

Postby Norimaro » Mon Nov 29, 2010 2:09 pm

Hello,I requested to have my number ported from Sprint (in which it states it could take 7-10 days) which was understood. Now, with my current provider, I am unable to make calls as they show the port request. Usually with ports you continue with your current provider until the port is complete and then the new one takes over. I have not received an email, call, fax, anything from Net10 regarding this issue. My account shows a "pending update" that continually says to check back in 5 minutes (and it's been over 4 hours). I have a card and added the PIN number to add 750 minutes w/ 30 days of service and that is a no go. On the phone it shows 0 days and 0 minutes of service but online it shows a service end date of 1/28. When I enter the port tracking number to see where it stands I get an error.

This has been the worst experience I've had with a company (and I've dealt with companies like Comcast a lot). I have yet to have this issue resolved and it was brought to the light. Has anyone else had long standing issues with the product that Net10 sells? This is their product and they do not stand behind it.

I been having the same problem but with porting my number from straight talk to net10. and I been talking to net10 and they are trying to help me but its not going so good, and on of my friends had looked at my phone and told me that my phone didn't have a MIN: Mobile identification number. and it need that. I get a unsuccessful when trying to program it with *22890 . I am at school ( college ) so its kinda hard to find a phone to call from but somehow I been able to call every night so far. and if they can't port it with out problems would it be faster if i just got a new number. and I get service at school, but none at home but my dad gets all bars with his net10. I transferred to net10 because straight talk did not offer service at my home and net10 did. and for that would it be easier if i just sent my phone in and they did all the stuff they need to to get it working were its so post to be.
