Wrong number ported?

Wrong number ported?

Postby rayonne » Thu Apr 07, 2016 11:03 pm

I'm trying to port my Sprint number to a new Net10 phone, and went through the activation process. However, my phone (still not activated) displays the wrong number in it's menu--instead of the Sprint number that I wanted ported, it displays my home landline number!

What went wrong? What should I do? Help?

Just a quick update, in case anyone else is having a similar issue: It looks like, while the port is in progress, the phone may display incorrect information, and will be corrected when the port is completed.

I'll post again if anything goes wrong.

UPDATE:

Well, this is not going well. I had an online chat with customer service, explained my problem, and they told me that the information displayed on the phone would be incorrect until the porting was complete, and then I'd have the correct number.

WRONG!

Two days later, I got a call from Net10. They told me what I had suspected from the beginning--they had mixed up numbers, and were trying to port my landline number instead of my old Sprint number. After a lengthy wait, they said they would send a new SIM card with the correct information on it, and once installed in my phone it would be active. I'm waiting for that SIM card, and I'll let you know how that works out.

HOWEVER!

Now, when I call my home, landline phone, I get a message that "this number doesn't have voice mail set up yet." Or something like that--the same message I get when I call the Sprint number that was ported! I can still call out on my landline, but no one can call in! Great, now what?

It's late, so I will wait until tomorrow to call them, and I really hope this can get fixed. What a mess.

Wrong number ported

Postby HenryHurne » Wed Mar 13, 2019 11:25 am

Just adding a few Sibley files to the collection...in my overenthusiasm, while uploading The Barks by Frank Seymour Hastings, I got my numbers around the wrong way and added #24236 instead of the correct number, #24326. I have now also added the right file. Could I please ask one of the admins to remove #24236 - thank you in advance.
