Ive been waiting patiently for my number to port from Boost to Net10 for a couple days now. The longer I wait though, the more aggravating its becoming. Last time i ported my number anywhere, it took 20 minutes. I cant get an email to contact anyone, and cant call anyone because my number is in the middle of transferring. SLOWLYY waiting for the confirmation email saying my port is finished so i can finally use my phone, you know, as a phone.

I am having a similar problem. I began the porting process 2 days ago and it has not completed. I have been told it will take until 12/29/15 (the process started 12/23). It is my understanding that not only is a few minutes to a few hours normal, but federally mandated (see https://www.fcc.gov/general/wireless-lo ... ility-wlnp). I have been told the problem is that the number is a wireline (it's actually a VOIP, but they're treated similarly) and it is more complicated to transfer this to wireless. Allow me to quote from the FCC website:

FCC number porting rules require "simple" ports to be processed in one business day. The deadline applies to all simple ports, including "intermodal" ports such as wireline to wireless, wireless to wireline, wireline or wireless to VoIP or any other combination. Simple ports generally do not involve more than one line or more complex adjustments to telephone switching equipment.

Why does it take so much longer for VOIP to wireless transfer?
