how to transfer fom exisiting phone to old one?

System will let me add airtime and activate old sim card, but wont let me transfer my existing number from my current phone to my old one. Both are smart phones, current is Moto G and old is Pantech Crossover -- tells me I need a new sim card, and to call customer service. Cant call, phones broken which is why I am trying to transfer my number back to my old phone. Thanks for any suggestions!
