Transfer Net 10 number to new Net 10 phon

Hi I lost my old Net 10 phone than bought a new one and had the serial number for the old phone and put in a transfer over the phone to keep the same number, and the man said to call *22890 after 3-4 hours and it's been about 28 hours now, when I call that number it says it can not process my phone, I called Net 10 and they said it was still in progress. Does it normally take this long? & what should I do if it doesn't work by tomorrow? :?:
