Galaxy Note 2, No MMS?

Galaxy Note 2, No MMS?

Postby Woody426 » Sat Dec 06, 2014 2:44 pm

I recently moved my Galaxy Note 2 over to Net10 from Verizon. When I bought the starter kit and installed the SIM card I could not get the phone to work. I called NET10 customer service and was told I would need a "differen" SIM card, they created a ticket number and told me I would receive the SIM card in the mail.

When the card came I called NET10 customer service and went through velocity teps to ensure the phone up and running, everything worked fine, Phone, SMS, INTERNET, everything EXCEPT MMS. I was told that the "limitations" of my phone would not allow it to send or receive pictures via text.

This was very interesting, as I had been sending and receiving pictures via text message with this phone for 13 months. O was then told that they needed to change my SIM card and move me from the TMobile network to the ATT network I'm order for me to send and receive pictures via text. I said OK, no problem. When the "new" SIM card came in I called the customer service number in the envelop to activate it. Things went down hill from there. The lady who I spoke to, who I could barely understand due to what I believe was a Ukrainian accent, explained to me that I had the wrong SIM card, this confused me because it was the card NET10had sent me. The ffirst four digits on the card are 8914, the young lady told me that was not possible because NET10 cards can't start with those numbers. I assured her my eyes had not failed me and offered to email her a picture of the card, she declined, telling me she didn't have email.

I gave her the ticket number that I was emailed, when she looked it up, miracle of miracles, I had indeed given her the correct number, starting in 8914. One would think we could them move forward and try to figure out the issue, but one would be wrong to think that. She continued to tell me that this was the wrong SIM card, I could not make her understand that even if it IS the wrong SIM card, it's the SIM card I was sent, I had no divine powers that allowed me to force NET10 to send me the wrong card.

We spent several painful minutes going over VPN settings before I asked to speak to a supervisor. I was then greeted by a young man who proceeded to tell me............. You gguessed it, "NET10 SIM cards do not start with 8914“ after several minutes he told me that due to the limitations of my Galaxy Note 2, I would not be able to send or receive pictures via text. I finally gave and asked what I should do with the magical 8914 SIM card that had mysteriously arrived at my house in an envelope from NET10, he said he didn't know.

Is there anything I can do to send and receive pictures via text? Or do I need to cut my losses and move on? Any help or advice would be appreciated.
