Reactivated phone not working...

I have gone through the process to reactivate a Net10 phone which was dead for almost 5 months. Over the phone the system tells me that the phone is active now. Still the screen says "Unregistered Sim" and I have no antenna bars. Since then I have bought a new phone and activated it with a new number... I want to deactivate the old one and transfer the minutes to the new one. I've tried calling and sending messages to the company but so far I've not had any response. Can anyone help me out here?
