ADDING PHONE TO ACCOUNT - NOT WORKING

Hi, i'm trying to add my phone to my account and it's not working, at one time it said that the serial number is already registered, but how, it's my phone and this is the first time registering my phone so i can track calls and text messages. is my phone not being accepted for a specific reason i may be missing..?
