So, after many hours (over 5) on the phone with technical support, I just gave up and started looking for another phone. I use an iPhone 4s from ATT. Got a wild hair over the Labor Day weekend and upgraded to iOs 7.1.2. Now everything works as it should. Just thought everyone should know.
