Porting out to sprint!

Ok so i used net ten for awhile with at&t phones but i decided yesterday to switch to sprint and ive had alot of phone numbers this years so i decided to port my net 10 number to sprint and take it with me however my sprint phone will not activate he did the port on the computer using phone number amd the last 4 as pin and it went threw but it is not working on the sprint side it shows pending on net 10 is says my number is invalid when i call its just going straight to voicemail my previous sim is just sitting in my car because i sold the phone to go make the down payment at sprint, does it have to be connected to finish the port!?
