BYOP SIM on unlocked phone gets good LTE but no phone recept

hello, my new BYOP SIM on an LG phone gets good LTE data but no phone call reception on our neighborhood ATT tower.
has anyone else gotten this issue? i know from another phone that there's good at&t coverage here.
