I called the 800 number and was told "their records" showed my service date had ended on 5-22-12. After some back and forthing (the operator needed the serial number since my number was "missing"), I got my phone reactivated with my correct phone number that I've had more than 3 years.
Today, 4 days after the first problem I find no one has been able to get a call to me since yesterday. I try dialing my phone and get the "your phone has been deactivated" again.
I call Net10 and am told my number "doesn't exist" and please give them the serial number. I am told I can't get my old number back. I ask to speak to a supervisor.
Person #2 says my number is not the one they are showing but one beginning with a 479 area code. I look that up in the phone book. It is for Arkansas. It's not even the same state I live in, it's at the opposite end of the country! I am then asked for my zip code. I give it, but it's not the one they have for me. And when putting it in she gets a system error.
When I ask about getting my old number back I am told I can't get it because it is "no longer a working number". In other words, when I ask NO ONE can ever have that number again. (Somehow I don't think so, I think it's been assigned, or about to be assigned to someone else.)
Because she can't do anything due to the "system error" the supervisor writes a ticket for the technical department. I ask if I can just speak to the tech dept now. She says no, because she just wrote a ticket. Says I have to wait 24 hours to call back, get a new number, etc etc.
So now I have a phone I can't use with a number in another state. For the heck of it I went to my online account. It lists my older deactivated flip phone but has apparently deleted my current phone. I try adding it with the serial number and my old number which of course doesn't work. so I put in the new Arkansas number and lo and behold it registers my phone.
All I can figure is that somehow on May 22, someone changed my zipcode to one that is in Arkansas, USA. (perhaps a new person registered with a name similar to my own?) And from then all it all fell apart. Then they went into my online account, deleted the registration of my LG900. It could all be automatic I suppose but this is a lousy system.
And right now, my ticket number cannot be found using the online tech page: http://www.net10.com/case_select_action ... ch_support
I am very, very upset.
