no or limited service all of a sudden

this afternoon all of a sudden, I'm not getting phone calls and service is extremely sketchy! Basically I'm going from no service to maybe one bar with no other indicators. No 4G etc... I use my phone for work and it is causing an issue. What is going on! 2nd time I've had issues. I'm stationary at the same place all day. going outside doesn't help.
