Porting number from N10

Postby narovers » Thu Mar 31, 2016 5:08 pm

I am considering porting my N10 number to a land line service provider.I have N10 service until July 2016 and have around 8500 service minutes available.I want to continue andkeep my N10 service and minutes after I request porting of the current number. How do I get a new number and keep my existing minutes after my current number is ported ?

Porting number from N10

Postby KuffTuh » Wed Jun 05, 2019 9:12 pm

Porting out to FPL is 25,00 taxes.

According to the CRTC rules you should be allowed keeping your existing number when changing provider.

Last June 29th I got answers from the Canadian Number Administrator that says "Once the number is ported, the VoIP reseller becomes the assignee of the number, and if the subscriber wishes to change VoIP providers, the number will stay with the old VoIP reseller and can only be released for porting if the old VoIP provider wishes it to be released".

But before having written this it was also written that Fibernetics is not a reseller.

I have read a case in a forum from someone porting to a VoIP provider but when wanting to port out to another provider they would not let him take his number.

So to be sure I would, in writing, ask FPL if you were to port to them would they allow you to keep that number if you were to switch to another provider.
