Moto G won't update

My Moto G seems to be stuck at OS 4.3 and cannot be updated. It says no updates are necessary when I try. I am losing apps because I can't update. I purchased it from Net 10. Are Net 10 phones not able to be updated? Thanks for any help.

Thank you for the information although I wish I would have known this when I bought it. I am losing apps because all now require 4.4. When I contracted Net 10 Technical Dept. they told me that I would have to reset my entire phone, but I somehow thought it was what you told me, that it would never update. I love the phone but now I guess I will have to buy another. The person I instant messaged said that Net 10 phones COULD be updated. Are you now telling me that none of the phones can ever be updated? Thanks for any information you can give me. I don't want to buy another if none can be updated.
