Activating New Phone Problems

-Hello,
I'm unable to active my new phone. Feeling a little frustrated.
Website is not accepting the pin to the phone plan I bought at the same time as the phone.
Not sure how to proceed. How do you call tech support when you phone isn't activated.
Why am I unable to chat online with a support technician; am I expected to list my phone serial number in a public forum ?!? disappointed with my new service so far.
